Common questions
Let’s get you
moving again.
Where should I start?
Create an account in Penniva to represent the money you want to track—this is a local financial account, not a login. Set category budgets and income estimates, then add a few transactions. You do not need bank credentials.
Follow the getting-started guideWhy does my app look different from these pages?
This website previews the submitted 1.1 update with synthetic app screens. Version 1.1 is awaiting review; the App Store may still deliver the earlier published version. Some screen details also differ between iPhone and iPad.
Check the 1.1 update notesI can’t find my Pro or founder access. What should I check?
In version 1.1, open Penniva Pro and use Restore Purchases with the Apple Account used for acquisition or purchase. Founder recognition uses verified original App Store acquisition before the cutoff, not installation date. Contact support if access still looks wrong.
Read about founder accessWhat do I need for Cloud Sync?
Penniva 1.1, Pro access, iOS/iPadOS 17 or later, the same iCloud account on your own devices, a connection and available iCloud storage. Cloud Sync is off until enabled. Follow the app’s readiness and source-choice explanations before proceeding.
Read setup requirements and limitsSync is paused or unavailable. Is my local budget safe to use?
Your local records and free export/backup access remain available. Read the status shown in Data & Privacy, check connectivity and iCloud availability, and contact support with the message if you need help. Avoid deleting the cloud copy or reinstalling as a troubleshooting shortcut.
Is a CSV export a full backup?
No. CSV gives you transaction rows to use elsewhere; it does not preserve the full structure of your Penniva budget. Use Full Backup for supported financial history and settings. Keep the generated file and its passphrase somewhere safe.
Compare export and full backupCan Penniva recover my backup passphrase?
No. Penniva does not store or recover it. A protected backup requires its passphrase and a compatible Penniva version. If you still have access to your local budget, create another backup with a passphrase you can safely keep.
Read the backup guideAn import needs correcting. What can I do?
Review the batch in Migration Center. Check the account, categories and amounts. Undo Import is available for the selected local import batch, subject to the app’s confirmation and safeguards. Import rollback history does not sync to another device.
